Kyle Anders Madson, was born on March 4, 1982. He is the third child of five siblings. He has an older brother, an older sister, and two younger brothers. His father is a Pharmacist, and his mother is a Licensed Practical Nurse. His parents were moderately strict over young Kyle, but did give him enough freedom to explore life and to make minor mistakes. Kyle grew up in a suburb on the outskirts of Topeka, Kansas and yearned to see the world.
Madson is very athletic. He played high school baseball, and football. He was also a member of the drama club, and participated in many plays. Madson felt that he was done with school after graduation, and did not want to go to college. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps a few weeks after graduation.
Enlisting out of Kansas, Madson went to Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego. After 13 weeks of boot camp, he graduated and was assigned to the Marine Combat Training Battalion in School of Infantry West, aboard Camp Pendleton. After graduation, he went directly to his military occupational school aboard Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, California. He was assigned to the Marine Corps Communications and Electronics School, Bravo Company to become a Field Radio Operator. He graduated near the top of his class, so he was selected to go to the follow on Multi-channel Equipment Operators Course. He started out as a 2531, but became a 2532. Shortly afterwards, they changed the MOS’s so he became a 0622. Upon graduation of MEOC, he received orders for 2nd Marine Division, Headquarters Battalion, Communications Company, MUX platoon. MUX stands for Multiplexer, Multi-channel or Microwave; Ultra high frequency; Transmit. He participated in a few Stateside deployments.
Madson was non recommended for promotion a few times, but eventually was promoted to Lance Corporal. His crazy antics often gets him in trouble. His legendary exploits around the Camp Lejeune area, local area colleges in Eastern North Carolina, and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina are often talked about. He is best friends with Diaz and often banters back and forth with him.
After the Marines, Madson returns to Topeka. He enrolled into, but quickly dropped out of community college. He is working at a big box store, and is tired of the boring daily repetition that has become his life. He yearns for adventure.
